2026 Fall Mini Photo Sessions IN NORTHERN VIRGINIA Are Back!
Get holiday-card ready in Alexandria, VA by capturing easy family fall photos with the option between multiple locations with morning and evening times available on weekends.
Mini Fall Sessions are convenient, effortless, and budget-friendly- conveniently held in Northern Virginia.
Each session lasts up to 15 minutes and you pick your favorite 10 digital images, received within one week of your session! The session will focus on group posed portraits. If you are looking for more candid moments at multiple locations around a park, contact me to schedule a full family session.
These fall mini photo sessions are available in Alexandria and Arlington, Virginia.
Here's the part most photographers won't say out loud: a mini session is not the thing I'm best at. My actual work is two hours in your kitchen while nobody behaves. But not every family is ready for that, and not every fall needs that. Sometimes you just want a real picture of all of you before this version of your family is gone.
That, I can do in fifteen minutes.

This year, we have three new locations: The Yards Park (Washington, DC), Lubber Run Park (Arlington, VA) and Potomac Yards Playground (Alexandria, VA). I'm focusing less on the foliage and more on your family.
Note that most of the fall photos I am showing here are from past year's locations.

MINI SESSION DETAILS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Please note that actual location of family photographs within your chosen park may vary depending on how busy the park is at any given time and to avoid activities occurring in the park and other photographers.
- Weather conditions will vary. While Janae aims to provide photos that will be as consistent as possible to the portfolio, every session will look a little different due to weather and light conditions and based on the family wardrobe selected.
- Janae will provide session details and reminders a few days prior to your session. This will include how to find Janae on the day of your session at the location.
- Arriving ahead of time to allow yourself time to park, fluff your outfits, and get kids over to the photo site will be imperative. Delays of one family affect all remaining families and may not be able to be accommodated easily.
- If you don't want it in the photos, leave it in your car. This includes purses, wallets, accessories like watches. I can hold your car keys and a phone during the session. Wallets and keys in pockets can be very noticeable in photos. Your photographer is not responsible for removing these distractions during the editing process.
- I recommend ironing your clothes. Wrinkly clothes are difficult to edit away.
Q: WHAT TIME SLOT IS THE BEST?
Whatever time works best for your family, and especially hungry or tired children, will give you your best photos. I schedule sessions within the first 2 hours of sunrise and 2 hours before sunset for the most ideal conditions. However, if you are looking for the dreamiest light, the first session of the morning and last session of the evening tend to be the most flattering light. As always, weather conditions impact light quality and the overall feeling of the photos. No matter what time you choose, we will get uniquely beautiful photos.
