I'm Janae Bixby. Photography has been my hobby for 11 years. Before becoming a mom, I couldn't wait to have the opportunity to photograph my own children and family.

But then I had children and I realized why most families don't have quality photos of their time together.........

LET ME TELL YOU MINE

Before you tell me your story

She/her

JANAE BIXBY

When my oldest was nearly 4, his preschool requested a family picture with everyone in it to hang on his cubby.

You know the feeling: taking kids out for a neighborhood bike ride just to end up with your hands loaded up with the bikes that kids no longer feel like riding, a crying baby on your hip, and your last remaining finger gripping the dog leash. Last thing I can do is worry about photos.

And even worse, I didn't end up in any of them

AND TO MY HORROR, I COULDN'T PROVIDE ONE, BECAUSE IN THE LAST YEAR OF HIS LIFE,
I WASN'T IN A SINGLE PHOTOGRAPH.

THIS IS THE GAP I WANT TO FILL FOR YOU

Documenting the small moments that happen in-between the annual coordinated family photos.

ONCE I HAD KIDS OF MY OWN, I WAS TOO

TO FIND THE TIME (OR FREE HANDS) TO DOCUMENT OUR MOMENTS.

OVERWHELMED

I've got this passion for crafting cool stuff, you know? It's like this magical thing where what I make isn't just easy on the eyes but also carries some deep  significance. I am creating some of the most important artifacts of someone's life.

  • The way my kids stare out the window watching cars (while completely butt-ass naked on the windowsill, sorry-not-sorry neighbors)

  • how the baby held her bottle of milk (with the stains all over my shirt from pumping it)

  • the way that dad looks at the kids when he's chasing them (because they stole his iPhone)

  • the way I hold my toddler while reading him books (just kidding, both kids are fighting too much to read)
